Sagar asks political parties, Hurriyat to come forward for Kashmir solution

Srinagar,January 30 (Scoop News) – Minister for Panchayati Raj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs,  Ali Mohammad Safar has said that the State Government has taken several steps to beautify and develop the historic places of Srinagar City (Shahr-e-Khas). He said Ziarat-e-Mukhdoom Sahib, Jamia Masjid Srinagar and revered Shrine of Naqashband Sahib (RA) are being developed on a large scale.

            Addressing a gathering, after inaugurating Rs.16 lakh Bab-ul-Sultan near Srinagar construction by Srinagar Municipal Corporation,  Sagar said an expansion project for Ziarat Mukhdoom Sahib (RA) worth Rs.57 crore has been formulated adding that a cable car project from Dal Lake up to Ziarat Mukhdoom Sahib would also be constructed shortly. He said an amount of Rs.52 crore would be incurred for remodelling of Jamia Masjid Srinagar whereas Rs.49 crore are proposed to be spend on developing Ziarat-e-Naqashband Sahib (RA).

             Sagar said Malla Khah being a historic graveyard of Shahr-e-Khas, some building in its vicinity would be relocated and rehabilitated on residential plots at alternative sites. He said community halls would also be constructed in Malla Khah and Bab-Damb areas.

            Referring to Kashmir imbroglio,  Sagar said all the political parties including Hurriyat Conference should sit on a table to hammer out a lasting solution to the problem so that the problems and hardships of the people could be removed. He said NC has always espoused the case of Kashmir problem and wants its amicable solution.

            Referring to un-employment problem,  Sagar said a special police recruitment drive will be launched in Nowhatta very soon. 

            Deputy Commissioner Srinagar,  Miraj Kakroo, Vice Chancellor Muslim Wakf Board, Prof. M. Y. Qadri, Ziuarat Makhdoom Saheb (RA), Sajad Mishra and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
