Minister inaugurated Casualty Block at DHQ Hospital, APCA office, addressed one Day Seminar on Population Welfare.
CHITRAL: NWFP Minister for Population Welfare Saleem Khan Chitrali inaugurated Casualty/Emergency Block at District Headquarters Hospital Chitral. Who also inaugurated All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) district office? Later on he addressed to the participants of one day seminar on reproductive Health organized by Population welfare department. During opening ceremony of Casualty Block at DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Nazir Ahmad presented welcome address. He said that the hospital facing acute shortage of specialist doctors and other staff especially women medical officers as well as shortage of medicines. Dr. Nazir said that casualty block was constructed in the year 1983 but could not run due to shortage of staff. Hence emergency patients were treated by the existing staff as additional duty of their routine work. Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Children specialist also spoke on the occasion. Addressing the inaugurating ceremony Provincial Minister Saleem Khan Chitrali said that Provincial government eradicated terrorism in the province by proper dialogue and debates and wants maintain peace in the country and to solve problems of the people. He said that we will leave no stone unturned for development of the area. He assured fulfilling vacant posts of Doctors in different BHU of Chitral. He expressed his satisfactory over the performance of DHQ Hospital Chitral.
He said that budget for medicine purchasing would be enhanced for serving the needy and poor patients.
Member Provincial Assembly Haji Ghulam Muhammad was also spoke on the occasion. He said that although I belong to an other political party but will serve simultaneously with Saleem Khan for welfare of Chitral. He assured his full support. He also thanked ANP for including Saleem Khan in provincial Cabinet. Hence there was no leader of ANP on the occasion.
Later on Provincial Minister Saleem Khan also inaugurated main office of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) District office by cutting ribbon. APCA cabinet presented welcome address and demanded for increasing of fire wood allowance, unattractive area allowance and solving their other problems.
On this occasion Saleem Khan instructed Clerks association to serve the people and he will fully support them to solve their genuine problems. He also directed DCO and EDOs of different department to settle this problem of Clerks and put a summary regarding increasing of fire wood allowance and UAA.
Saleem Kahn also attended a one day Seminar on Health reproductive and population welfare and planning at a local hotel. Dr. Habib Shah District Population Welfare Officer explores different aspects of population growth in his presentation through projector. He motivated elites of the area how to control over increasing number of population in the country. Addressing the seminar Saleem Khan said that we are facing numerous problems due to increasing number in population indiscriminatingly. As a result we face shortage of food, less opportunities of employment, health and education facilities even suffering in hospitals. He said that our resources are same but population increasing day by day which is a question mark for us. We all should to think about this issue he said. Our population will be double in number in next 13 years if increasing by present ratio he added. He ordered for detailing a coordination committee comprising on Heads of line departments, religious scholars, elites of the area and social workers for mechanizing a strategy how to control over increasing in population. He also announced for opening an other reproductive health center at Booni as one existing in Chitral town. As well as basic pay scale of LHV in this department would be enhanced to BPS 11 form 8 as per scale in health department. A large number of people belonging all walks of life, heads of line department attended the seminar.
