India – New Delhi: India’s highest ranked women’s tennis player Sania Mirza now fought her way back into the top 100 of the singles WTA rankings, making a comeback to the sport after a wrist injury that forced her out for the majority of 2008.
On Sunday at the Pattaya Open Mirza lost in the finals after her great performance, to Vera Zvonereva the world number 5, the Indian star has jumped 39 places in the latest WTA rankings that refreshed on Monday. Now Mirza ranked 87th in the world.
This year she starts with Australian open mixed double title shared with Bhupathi, now the runner of Pattaya Open.
