Sania Mirza reaches 2nd round at Wimbledon battling an injury

Sania Mirza played despite pain to reach the Wimbledon second round with a 7-6 (7/3), 3-6, 6-4 win over Catalina Castano of Colombia .

Mirza, the 32nd seed, had only returned to action two weeks ago after missing the last three months following surgery on a right wrist injury.

She next plays Spain’s Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez .A win in then second round ensures her first ever appearance in 3rd round at the Wimbledon Championships .
