The paparazzi were kept at bay while both Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni arrived in Egypt. The two of them were seen holding hands with each other as they got off the plane and headed towards the luxury hotel in Luxor, Egypt.
While there are many photographers taking pictures, security has been very tight. Instead of uniformed guards, there were plainclothes guards. Two journalists were already detained by guards on Monday as they were filming the hotel.

They flew into Egypt on a private jet belonging to French billionaire Vincent Bollaire, who’s a friend of Nicolas Sarkozy. Before flying back to France, Mr. Sarkozy is due to make a formal state visit to Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s president.
