A young man in Fountain, Colorado hired two men to kill his mother. But it was for a good cause. He felt this was the best way he could get money to pay for his girlfriend’s breast implants.
Lucky for mom, her son’s instincts were no better in selecting hit men than they were in choosing financing schemes. Juan Antonio Velez Gonzalez, 18, and Brandon Michael Soroka, 19, dressed in black, attacked Hyun Sook Weis on Thursday, hitting her repeatedly with a small wooden baseball bat.
But Weis pressed her car’s panic button and escaped to a neighbor’s house to call 911. She was released Friday from the hospital.
According to a police affidavit the group had tried to murder Hyun Weis one night before, but she wouldn’t answer her door. So, on Thursday, Hyun’s son Nikita Lee Weis, 18, went in first, then at least one of his conspirators followed.
Police say Nikita Weis agreed to pay the suspects $2,000 for killing his mother.
The two “hit men,” Nikita Weis and Weis’ 21-year-old girlfriend, Sophia Nicole Alsept, have been charged with suspicion of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
The Fountain police chief said Weis wanted to sell his mother’s car and use money in her bank accounts to pay for breast implants for his girlfriend. The suspects planned to wrap the mother’s body in plastic and dump it in the New Mexico desert.
All four are being held on $50,000 bail.
