School girl dies after punishment from Teacher

It is said that teachers are the best guides for kids after parents, and they have a great influence on the kid’s growing mind and psyche. But rising incidents of teachers turning violent on their students have raised serious doubts over the credibility of this profession, which was once seen as the most noble and respectable profession of all.

In a shocking incident of cruelty against an 11 year old girl student in Delhi, a teacher of a government school forced her to sit on her haunches in the sun for hours as punishment towards a school homework which she probably could not finish on time. The girl after sitting out for hours collapsed out of exhaustion; and had to be admitted to a hospital, where she later died after being in coma for hours.

In the light of this shocking and unnerving incident, Municipal Corporation of Delhi has ordered a high level inquiry into the incident, and has also suspended the principal of the school and the teacher, who had inflicted punishment on the student.
