Peace committee meeting held at Mastuj. CHITRAL: An important meeting of peace committee held at Union council Mastuj office under the chair of Syed Ibrahim Shah, Nazim UC Mastuj. The meeting was participated by all parties leaders including religious leaders and elites of the area. All the Pesh Imam of Masajid (Mosques) and Mukhis of Jamat Khana of Ismaeli community assured the Nazim for maintaining peaceful environment of Chitral. They determined that neither miscreant nor any militant would be allowed to deteriorate this peaceful environment of Chitral. The stakeholders through a unanimous resolution demanded for re-starting work on the Lawari tunnel by re-calling Korean Engineers and technical staff. They assured that there would be no law and order situation for Korean staff being a peaceful district of the country. Leaders of both religious sects expressed their fully cooperation for maintaining peace of the area on all costs. A large number of people to all walks of life attended the meeting and they were united on the agenda for restarting working on Lawari tunnel and keeping peace of the district. Supply of electricity restored afer one week. CHITRAL: Supply of electricity to the entire district was restored after suspending of one week as a result Chitral had plunged into dark. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan thanked Deputy Manager Operation Pesco Malakand Murad Khan and Assistant Manager operation Noor Karim and his staff or working day and night for restoration of power supply. Tehsil Nazim also regretted and excused from the people of Chitral who faced great problems due to suspension of electricity. Hence felicitated people of Chitral for restoring of electricity supply and solving their problem. He also hailed services of GSO Grid Station Operation staff who worked during curfew period for restoring power supply. Re-opening of Schools at Chitral demanded. General councilor of Union council Terich Azam Khan appeal to high ups of education department for re-opening of educational institutions in Chitral. He said while talking to APP that Chitral is a very peaceful area and there is no fear of any militancy or terrorism. He said that schools remained closed for winter vacation from Dec 25 to Feb 28 and opened on 1st March but after one month it once again closed due to precautionary measurement of law & order situation in this division. He said that after closing of schools at Chitral precious time of students are wasting causing for education downfall. He appeal that schools should be opened here at least at Chitral being a peaceful district. Fida ur Rehman passes away. Prominent poet and writer (of Khowar Chitrali language) Fida ur Rehman Fida was passes away by cardiac arrest. He was also employee in forest department as forest guard. He was laid to rest at his ancestral grave yard of Drosh. A large number of people belongings to all walks of life including staff of forest department. He left one widow, 3 daughters and one small son. He was nephew of Subadar Mehboob Alam. He was general Secretary of Unjumani Taraqi Khowar Drosh and General secretary of organization Chitral district. He was also chief editor of monthly Khowar magazine magazine Hamkalam and 6 months magazine Khowar Chap. G.H.
