Jammu and Kashmir: Private
schools are hell bent to create havoc among the parents by increasing fee and
other charges at their own every year. Even government has failed to put school
owners under curb. Despite the fact that few years back government ordered that
school operators or owners should display the fee structures against the
facilities provided by them to children.
But only after one exercise
neither school owners nor government showed concern for the cause. Even parents
of different schools staged protest in several parts of the city but no one
bothered about them. Finally, parents of various schools have decided to
assemble on April 30 at Jammu Press Club to discuss future course of action.
Complete lawlessness prevails in
these schools as no set norms are followed and rules are being changed every
now and then for their benefits, said Sunita Sharma, President Parents
Association. She informed that parents are going to meet in the evening at 5pm
at Jammu press club to discuss future course of action. She appealed all
parents to join in the meeting for the cause of their kids.
Secretary Mrs. Verma said that
in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and in
other towns of country such cruelty is not exercised and, if any occurs,
concerned authorities take cognizance and set norms in the interest of student
community. But here, she said, neither school authorities think reasonably nor government
show any concern to end the menace created by school operators.
Increasing fees, bus fare,
selling of books, note books and uniforms without and bill is routine of the
schools, she said and added when a parent asks about all this, reply is simple
and straight, “take your child from the school”. “Children will boycott schools,
if our demands are not looked upon by the government and concerned authorities”
she warned.
