Scientists To Bring Issue of Climate Control Back To This Year’s G8

Japan will be in charge of this year’s G8 summit which is set to take place in Hokkaido, the northern most island of the country. Originally, the main subject of this year’s G8 summit was going to be green jobs that will help with climate control and address it at both a regional and economic level.

This would also be the first time that the G8 would address labor and the environment together.

However, that has been eclipsed by the topic of fuel and oil. Recently, oil per barrel continues to rise up as it is between $135 and $150 at least. Here in the United States, gas is at least $4 per gallon. Due to the rising cost of oil, fuel and gas prices has become the new topic of this year’s G8 Summit.

Many across the world have protested the rising gas prices. Many have blamed a weakening US dollar for the rising gas prices.

Now, scientists are trying to bring the issue of climate control back to this year’s G8 Summit. The G8 nations along with five other nations have been urged by scientists to respond to the global warming. They warned that water and food supplies will be affected.

They also want an improvement in energy efficiency and expand projects for renewable energy sources. Scientists also want a timetable to be created by the year 2009. They have stated their argument that climate change is an issue for today.

Unfortunately, the issue of gas prices has overshadowed that issue. But, the scientists are stressing the importance of climate control. Perhaps climate control and rising gas prices could be addressed together.
