Sebelius Still A Strong Possibility As HHS Secretary

Upon winning the United States Presidency, Barack Obama swiftly started to assemble his administration. So far, several have withdrawn their nominations for several reasons such as tax inconsistencies and clash in ideology. One of the people that withdrew a nomination was former Democratic Senate Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota. He was Obama’s first pick to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Daschle withdrew due to tax inconsistencies. So far, it seems highly likely that the next nomination could go to Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, a moderate Democrat. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. It is unknown whether or not Sebelius will be nominated. The possibility has been mentioned in the past. Even today, Sebelius is still a strong contender.

So far, former Vermont Governor and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean could be a possibility. However, it does not seem that the Obama administration has looked into that possibility. So far, it seems that many on FaceBook are rallying for Dean’s support.

Sebelius is due to be in Washington to attend the National Governor’s Association meeting.
