Sectarian violence in Hangu

 

‘Three persons were killed 38 were injured when sectarian violence broke out on 10th of Muharam, in Hangu district of NWFP Pakistan, eight among the injured were security forces men. Army gunship helicopters were used to control the violence in Hangu, since last two days ceasefire is being observed the truce is mediated by elders of Hangu between warring sects upon guarantee of 10 million rupees fine for committing breach of truce,’ sources have said.

‘In Kurram agency ceasefire between both Shia and Sunni warring sects is made until 31st of January, heavy losses of life and property are reported during sectarian violence broke out in Kurram agency on 16th of November 2007,’sources have said.

‘ Military operation in Dara Adam Khel is delayed because around 450 armed Taliban militants have penetrated in settled area of Kohat, Taliban militants have started patrolling in Kaghazai to Ambar Banda area on vehicles equipped with heavy weapons,’ eyewitnesses have said.

‘Situation in Dara Adam Khel is still calm, though security forces are deployed their, no clashes are occurred between Taliban militants and security forces so far,’ a resident of Dara Adam Khel has said.
