Security on high alert on LOC in Kashmir
Security forces have been kept on high alert in the North Kashmir after seventeen Laskar-E-Toiba militants and eight Army personal, including a Major, were killed in an encounter in the Harfada forests in Kupwara district. The encounter had begun on March 20 and ended only on 25th March.
Fresh movement of suspected militants was noticed on the other side of the line of control in Gurez and Machil sectors of the North Kashmir today by the troops deployed there. The troops have been kept on high alert.
The defense authorities had earlier said that militants in huge numbers are waiting for the snow to melt and sneak into this side of the line of control to disrupt the process of forth coming parliamentary elections in the state of J&K.
Apprehending more infiltrtration bids the security is tighten on the LOC by the Indian forces.
Meanwhile the combing operation in the Drangyari and Hafrada forests in the shamsabari range was going on without any fresh gunfight in the besiged area reported PTI.
