Sensitization Workshop on Implementation of National Plan of Action for Children held.
CHITRAL: National Commission organized a one-day sensitization workshop on Implementation of national Plan of Action for children here in a local hotel for Child Welfare & Development Ministry of Special Education & Social Welfare. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Chitral Mutasim Billah Shah was chief guest on the occasion. The stakeholders presented their suggestions regarding implementation of NPA for children and concerned over that despite establishment of the commission in 1990 but there is no Ministry to patronize child rights and to protect children from different exploitations. Although Pakistan has ratified United Nation Child Rights Commission but even then no portfolio of ministry was designated for this purpose. They said that universal children day is being celebrating every year on 20th Nov but no concrete action was taken for child rights. Child labors is increasing day by day instead of decreasing. Addressing the workshop DCO Chitral who was also chief guest on the occasion said that we always ignoring our children and never spare sometimes for them although they are our ambassadors of our future.
He said that every manhood lives in childhood if we care them in childhood there would be no exploitation. He appeals the parents for properly attention and look after of their children to produce them as a best and beneficial citizen. Because these children are our assets and we should to protect them by proper guideline them at their early childhood. He said that although in foreign countries there is proper ministry for children but we just now organizing sensitization workshop on this issue. He said juveniles’ justice is only in paper not in practically implementation. He said only to educate our own children is extremely insufficient but we must to also educate children in our neighbors and surrounding for a safe tomorrow of our children. Otherwise they will badly impressed and badly affect character of our children. He emphasized on all stakeholders to leave no child without school going. They should be must send to school. He said war putting work need on this issue. We conducted 4 meetings with education department for uniform study criteria and equal syllabus DCO added. He warned in case of dropt out of a child from any school the concern teacher must be relieved from that school so as to minimize drop out ratio and to assure cent percent enrollment. We should to exercise self-accountability because there is epidemic situation of child rights in Pakistan. He said that there is great communication gape between each relationship.
DCO assured of concrete and maximum support assistance on child rights protection. He also announced to establish a Commission for Child rights and development at district level to evaluate their rights and to protect them. At last the stakeholders were given task for group working to recommend suggestions regarding strategy for implementation on National Plan of Action for Children rights like their education, health and protection.
