“Jinde Kanne Ghare Di Ladi Nai Woh Bhi Chief Minister Bane De”,(Those who did not enjoy company of their wives are acting as chief ministers), this statement of political tycoon and top leader of National Conference (NC), presently at the level of regional head, in Vijaypur during a public meeting in presence of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has created storm in political circles.
It is important to mention that all the former chief ministers including Mufti Sayeed, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Farooq Abdullah are enjoy companionship with their wives after they got married and only incumbent chief minister Omar Abdullah, who has divorced his wife (Dec 2011) does not enjoy company of his wife. Though, Farooq and his wife live at different places of two different countries but are still enjoying married tag.
Issuing such a statement at the time when Chief Minister, shares dais with other senior leaders of a political party amounts to political immaturity or to deliberate act of humiliation. CM does not belong to a particular political party but is respected and admired by entire state irrespective of political afflation.
Politicians of opposite political parties are of opinion that there were reports of serious difference among top leaders of NC to which the statement of Provincial President has authenticated. They added that apprehensive about future of party most of lower and middle rung activists and workers have deserted the party.
Senior NC leader, wishing not to be named, said that it is serious matter of concern as Omar is believed to have blind faith and acute trust upon two regional heads. He, however, said that it may be slip of tongue or having resemblance towards some political opponent.
Meanwhile, large number of media persons and TV viewers informed that statement was broadcasted in news headlines but was later withdrawn. They however maintained that the video and audio of the statement has become favorite of thousands of social media users.
Whatsoever may be the gimmick behind the scene and story, NC and its regional head for Jammu have gained popularity at par with Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Admi Party in less than twenty four hours. It remains worth to watch, weather the party and its leaders in question would like to clear confusion of political storm or would like to be silent as they prefer in serious issues.
