In seven bomb blasts that occurred serially in Bangalore at an interval of few minutes; two people died, including a woman, and many other were injured. The explosions were of low intensity hence the low casualty rate. The first explosion occurred in the Madiwala lake area near Mallya Hospital Bus stop at 1:45 p.m. This blast, near a wholesale vegetable market took the life of a woman. At the time of the explosion the market was sparsely crowded. If the explosion would have taken place in evening, casualties would have been several times higher.
The second explosion occurred near Madivala check post; the third explosion took place in Nayandahalli near Mysore, which is a crowded road, but during the day was less crowded. The other four explosions occurred in Arugodi, Koramangala and Hosur road. Two bombs exploded in the Arugodi area. Telephone and Mobile networks have been jammed. All injured are admitted to St. John Hospital.
According to one eye witness (security guard of my house who stays in Madiwala), the bombs were dumped in garbage cans and exploded through timers.
Many residents of our society buildings including me cannot connect to our husbands via mobile, who are working in Koramangla and electronic city because of a jammed of mobile network.
Although Bangalore authorities issued a helpline number, it does not work due to jammed network. I cannot contact my sister in law who resides in Koramangla where one of the explosions occurred.
Authorities told us not to stay inside at home not go out.
I want to add that I am very fortunate because my house is just 2 km away from Madiwala.
