Several persons were either killed or injured in separate incidents of violence witnessed in various parts of the country during general elections-2008 on Monday.
In some incidents voters were prevented from casting their vote while women voters were forced not to participate in the polls on the directives of the respectable of the area in Mandi Bahauddin.

A man was killed in an armed clash in Dera Ghazi Khan. In Jackobabad-Shikarpur constituency NA-203 and PS-10 of Jam Khan, at least 18 people were injured in a clash of two groups. A press worker was killed in gunfire in Swat Mingora. In Jackobabad constituency NA-209, seven people were injured in a clash between two political groups in polling station Ghulam Hussain Khosa and Jam Jagan Channa.
At least ten people were injured in a clash between two political factions at a polling station in Ghotki, Mirpur Mathelo. A man was killed in aerial firing in Shikarpur. A UC Naib Nazim Asif Saeed was killed in firing incident at a polling station in Chak-383 of Tobatek Singh. Another man was killed in Khairpur violence.
