A five-member gang, including three women, who were allegedly running a `brothel’ near here have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody today, police said.
Police raided the house following public complaints that the gang is involved in flesh trade at a rented house at Edarikkodu under Kalpakancheri police station limits. In the raid police arrested five persons, including three women, hailing from different parts of the state.A thorough search was on to nab the alleged kingpin of the racket, identified as Suhail.
The gang, comprising Faisal of Parapanangadi, Narayanan Kutty of Tirur in Malappuram, Nirmala alias Mini of Thiruvananthapuram, Janaki of Thrissur and a Bangladeshi woman Roopali, were said to be operating from the rented house for about two months, he said, adding three vehicles used by them in the operations had also been seized.
The accused were produced before a Court in Tirur and remanded to judicial custody. A detailed probe would be held into the case as several others were suspected to be involved in the racket.
