Sexual Encounters for Gratification Only

Commentary: Many people today are having a "sex only" type relationship with different partners without any feelings or commitments. I cannot comprehend this type of sexual activity for many reasons because I cannot conceive having a sexual relationship for self-gratification purposes only and without affections for the other person.

When people participate in sexual encounters for gratifications, do they consider the person as a friend or what? I suppose not, it is purely for lust and satisfaction and nothing more. What has happened to the person’s self-respect for their body? Why did they lose the respect? What will it take to get the respect back? I’ve always looked upon my body as being my temple and it’s not to be soiled by impurities.

My feelings about a sexual relationship is being in love with a person who I want to share my love and my body with. I want to share this experience for the purpose of expressing my love for them, gratification through bonding as one person, and for the purpose of spending the rest of my life with them.

This is one of the most beautiful experiences in a person’s life and it should not be took for granted or misused just for the purpose of graticiation. Love equals warmth, respect, care, honesty, and loyalty to one person.

When people share their bodies with many partners, they do not know who else they have had as a sex partner and what type disease they may have passed on to them either. The person may have had a venereal disease, STD’s, or HIV, and there’s "no" assurance they’re going to be exempt from a disease too.

People should give some thoughts to how rampant these type diseases are throughout the world before having a sexual relationship with a stranger or someone they know "nothing" about.

I don’t know how I would feel if someone used me as a pawn for sex, but it would be hard to ever forget. It might turn me against ever having another relationship with anyone forever.

I believe sex is an exceptional union between two people who are in love and who desires to have a union for life. I believe in cherished marriage vows with an aim to be together until death.
