Reigning Australian Open champion Maria Sharapova has withdrawn from this year’s event because she has been suffering from shoulder injury.It was expected to get over well soon but she recovers very slowly.The Russian says that she is recovering but not yet well enough to compete in the event that will be starting on january 19.
The world number nine tennis player feels very sorry for her inconvenience to be ready for the game where her fans have been disappointed as well.She has promised that she will meet the compettion ,the next year.
The officials of Tennis Australia ,at first, agreed to push the 2007 tournament back one week but later scrapped the plan and reverted to the original dates.
