“Shashrang” Season-3 held at SKICC

Srinagar November 17( Scoop News)- , Calling music food for soul, Minister for Tourism, G.A.Mir Sunday said that to heal stress and hypertension, MUSIC is the best medicine and treatment, whatsoever the sufferings may be.
The Minister was addressing Shashrang Musical Fest-2013, celebrated with traditional fervor an enthusiasm at SKICC ths evening, organized by the Kashmir Music Club Cooperative Ltd. The Fest include Grand Cultural Show presented by renowned artists, which include Mir Munir and others and Award Ceremony.
Appreciating the organizers of the Shashrang Musical Fest, Mir said hat Government is committed to promote music, poetry and culture an every effort is being made to support such organizations, engaged in providing a platform to local artists t present their performances.
Various genres of Kashmiri Sufiyana, folk music and Kashmiri Light Music were the attractions of the Fest.
Earlier, Chairman, Kashmir Music Club Waheed Jeelani in his welcome address urged for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood by organizing joint ventures of music and literature. He expressed satisfaction over the support of all stakeholders in promoting art and music in the State and also for providing necessary faclites for organizing music programmers.
Later, renowned artist of the State Padamshree Awardee, Shameema Azad was honored for her outstanding contribution in the field of music.
Late Sufiyana Maestro Sheikh Abdul Aziz, M. Yousuf Chrari, a reputed folk artist, G. M. Saznawaz, Gulzar Ganai, DDG, Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Bashir Aaarif was also awarded for hs untiring effort to strengthen art and culture through the medium Radio.
A CD comprised of the Natiya poems of late M.Ayub Betab was released by the dignitaries.
Programmed Director, Shafeeq Qureshi on this occasion said that cultural organizations work for the revival and promotion of Art, Culture and Tourism of the State.
A Kashmiri CD containing a song written by Bashir Dada and translated in five languages composed by Waheed Jeelani was released by the dignitaries on the occasion. Waheed said that ths CD will be released in London in July this year, aimed at promoting Kashmir Tourism and Kashmiri Music in the foreign countries.
Earlier, Tourism Minister addressed a Press Conference, regarding ‘ Ek Sham, Kashmir Ke Naam’ Kulhind Mushaira being held at SKICC on 19th Nov.2013. An officers meeting was also held to review the arrangements.
