Side wall at Air port road damaged within one month of its construction.
CHITRAL: Side wall (parapet wall) at Air port road, which were constructed with a cost of million of rupees at Chitral Air port road to save the main road from erosion by River was damaged after one month of its construction. As a result water of Chitral river touch main road causing for road erosion. This side wall was constructed with a cost of million rupees but due to apathy of the authority, ill-planning and using substandard material no proper monitoring by the concerned quarter the side wall was damaged within a month. Besides it a protection Bund near to Airport in Chitral River was also constructed with a cost of million rupees by pleasing a local contractor by the authority and a local Nazim which was also damaged more than of its half. The air port road is very sensitive one and it was cut by river erosion side wall was approved for its protection which was budded and its tender was awarded to a local contractor. Usually in our country government buildings or works done through a contractor always and durable and of substandard quality and the tremendous earthquake of 8 October, 2005 is a clear proof of this plea by using substandard material in government buildings as a result most of such buildings were collapsed as comparative private houses. Social and political circle of the area have demanded for probing the matter by conducting an inquiry in this regard that why the newly constructed side wall at Chitral Airport road was damaged after one month of its completion so as to be avoid from such blunders in futures by saving the country exchequers by embezzlement.
