Jammu; 01.08.2011 : During last week, various orientation programmes in Mathematics, Computer, Science, Urdu, English and Social Studies subjects were organised by State Institute of Education, Jammu in Reasi, Samba and Jammu district. These programmes were envisaged by the State Institute of Education, Jammu as part of its activities to improve the teaching methods and skills at School level. The theme of the week long orientation programmes was Teaching of Mathematics, Computer, Science, Urdu, English and Social Studies at Secondary level which were co-ordinated at different places by the officers from State Instiute of Education, Jammu. In Reasi district, the orientation programmes in Mathematics, Computer, Science and English were conducted whileas in district Jammu orientation programme in Urdu was conducted and that of Social Studies was organised in district Samba.
It may mentioned here that during the summer vacations this year, the total seven phases of orientation courses were completed starting from 25th May and concluded on 30th May in which besides training about teaching methods and techniques, the masters and teachers participants have also undergone first hand training on establishment & maintenance of laboratories, Art & craft Education, preparation of teaching Aids and Planning & Management.
In a press handout issued here, it was stated that the orientation programmes held in district Reasi on Teaching of Mathematics, Computer, Science and English at Secondary level were co-ordinated by Smt. Archana Khanna, Mr. Rajinder Kumar, Smt. Namrata Khajuria and Mr. Jagdish Lal Sharma from State Institute of Education, Jammu respectively. Further, the orientation Programme in Urdu which was conducted in district Jammu during this week was co-ordinated by Ms. Tahira Parveen. However, Mr. Narinder Singh was the co-ordinator of orienttion programme in Social Studies which was held in district Samba.
Further, it was mentioned that these orientation programmes received a rich response as a total of 30, 27, 39, 28, 42 and 30 participants attended these programmes in Mathematics, Computer, Science, Urdu, English and Social Studies respectively.
Today on last day of the orientation programmes, the parralel valedictory functions were held at Reasi, Jammu and Samba. At Reasi, Mr. Avinash Chander Aima, Principal State Institute of Education chaired the joint valedictory funtion of orientation programme in Mathematics, Computer and Science. While speaking on the ocassion, Mr. Aima stressed upon the teachers that in the interest of improving the standard of education system, adopt and implement the newer & updated methods and skills in the teaching. Further, expressing his gratitude to Director School Education for his keen interest and untiring efforts to bring complete transformation/reformation in education sector, Mr. Aima asked the teacher fraternity to come up to the expectations of their Director. Mr. Paramjeet Singh, Field Advisor , Mathematics & Science, was present in valedictory session also spoke.
In Jammu, in orientation programme of Urdu, more than twenty five lectures were delivered followed by interactive sessions by the distinguished personalities of Urdu like Prof. Qudoos Javed, Former Head, Department of Urdu, Kashmir University, G.M.Mughal, Senior Leacturer, DIET Samba and Sarsa Ram, Senior Lecturer, HSS, Parmandal. The trainers have dealt in detail the various aspects of Urdu language and its teaching and the important topics taught during this orientation programme included Jammu Kashmir mein Urdu ki Soorat e haal, Urdu grammer keh quaid, nazam ka tarkeek-e- tadrees, Mubtadyoun ko urdu Padhana sekhana, Imla committee ki safarshaat and Zaid Az Nasabi Masroofyat etc. Mr. Pardeep Kumar Padha, Field Advisor, Language Wing of SIE, Jammu chaired the valedictory session of orientation programme in urdu and distributed the Certificates among participants. Tahira Parveen, Course co-ordinator presented vote of thanks. Whileas, the valedictory session of orientation programme in Social Studies was presided over by Smt. Shakuntla Rani, Field Advisor, Social Science Wing of the institute. The programme was ended with the vote of thanks by Mr. Narinder Singh.
