Sikh leaders, PC district president join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP )

 

 

Srinagar, April 26  -– Prominent leaders of the Sikh community from the Kashmir valley along with their supporters joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today in presence of the party Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.  

The Sikh leaders who joined the PDP today, include Master Kuldeep Sigh Bali, Ex-President Gurdawara Prabhandhak Committee Srinagar, Sardar Gurjeet Singh, President Gurdawara Prabhandhak Committee Budgam, Sardar Harvinder Singh, President United Kashmir Sikh Front, Sardar Janak Singh, Sardar Daljeet Singh Nanni, Master Damodhar Singh, Sardar Baldev Singh and Sardar Suraj Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the Sikh community while pledging their support to PDP said that under the seasoned leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP has emerged as a genuine and authentic voice of the people of Jammu & Kashmir across the board. “People of Jammu & Kashmir are looking towards Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for the resolution of the State’s problems,” they said and added that the State had not only witnessed relief on the security front, but political stability and a wave of developmental during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as the Chief Minister of the State between 2002 and 2005. “The people of the State are yearning to see the revival of that golden era of governance,” they said.

Meanwhile, a senior leader of the Peoples Conference and the party’s district president for Kupwara advocate Mohammad Amin Wani of Handwara joined the PDP, alongwith his supporters, in presence of the party Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. A founder member of Peoples Conference, Wani was a close associate of late Abdul Gani Lone. Another Peoples Conference leader Hafizullah also joined PDP on the occasion.

Senior PDP leaders Sardar Rangil Singh, Sardar T S Bajwa, Mohammad Dillawar Mir, Sardar Manjit Singh and Bashir Assad were present on the occasion.
