Silvestre Off To Catania

Boca Juniors defender Matías Silvestre was sold to Serie A side Catania for an estimated US$3 million.  The former Boca defender signed a three-year deal with the Italian side.  Silvestre, who has various titles under his belt during the Alfio Basile era, was not taken into account during the Miguel Ángel Russo era and the same goes for current coach Carlos Ischia.  Silvestre will now become the fourth Argentine at Catania who are currently in 12th place in Serie A alongside former Real Madrid galkeeper Albano Bizzarri, Mariano Izco, and Pablo Álvarez.

He became the second Boca defender to leave the club during the winter transfer window as Matías Cahais was loaned out to Dutch side Groningen.

Besides sports both at the local level and internationally, I will be covering the Super Tuesday proceedings in Connecticut, which suddenly turned into a swing state here in New England. So check me out here as well as in my blog.
