Situation on LoC grave: Rana

Poonch, October 10, (Scoop News)- Expressing sympathy with the families of those who have been killed in the unprovoked mortar shelling of border areas in the state, Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Javed A Rana has termed the obtaining situation along the IB and LoC as grave and has asked for immediate measures for ensuring safety of life of the people living close to the border.

He has demanded arrangement of alternative accommodation for the affected families well in time to face any emergent situation as well as provision of food, transportation, medical facilities in case they have to be evacuated for heavy shelling in their areas. ‘’ensuring that people emigrating from the affected areas do not face any difficulty on account of food, shelter, medicine, drinking water and other such requirements must be the foremost priority’’, said Rana, who has also suggested construction of bunkers for civilians in the sensitive villages along the LoC.
Demanding construction of residential colonies for the people living close to the LoC who frequently face mortar shelling, he said that it will bring a semblance of stability in their lives. Rana has also demanded reservation and a special recruitment drive for the unemployed youth of border areas and free ration to the affected villages as people there are not being able to harvest the standing crop in this season.
