Six Things God Hates; Seven Are An Abomination Unto Him

God tells people in the Bible, King James Version, and in the New Testament in Proverbs 6: 16 – 18, there are six things He hates; seven are an abomination unto Him. The seven things that are listed are characteristics of a person whom the Bible calls worthless and wicked and warns of their sudden and permanent destruction. (Read Proverbs 6: 12 – 15; 16 – 18)

I. In the New Testament in Proverbs and in Verse 6: 17, the Bible tells people God hates, “A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.

The Bible tells us that people who are proud are an abomination to God; and they will not stand before Him or go unpunished. “Haughty eyes” are people who think too highly of themselves and despise other people. They’re boastful and conceited in all their accomplishments feeling their knowledge and statuses are the greatest and they trust in their own knowledge and understanding, shut out and disregard any reproof or correction, and ignorant of God’s word. They act like they’re some sort of God; and this is in violation of the first commandment. They believe they’re independent and self-sufficient and they know more than anyone else does, and they put God’s ability aside too. People who are not humble, self-less, and contrite fit and falls into this type category. God opposes proud people and those who are not humble and gracious to other people. (Prov. 16:5; Ps. 5:5; James 4:6)

And, God hates people who speak lies, stretch the truth, prevaricating intentions of deceiving others, they all fit into this same category. In many verses of the Bible God lets people know He abhors and He will destroy them. Those who lie are breaking the ninth commandment, being in direct defiance and contradiction to God’s personal nature because God is a truthful God; and therefore, people doing this are demonstrating that Satan, and not God, is their father, he who is the father of lies. God’s word tells people those that lie they will have their part in the lake of fire. (Prov. 12:22; Ps.5:6; John 8:44)

And, God hates murderers and those who shed innocent blood. The Bible tells people that God abhors those who are associated with bloodshed and hates those who love violence. People who commit premeditated unlawful killings of an innocent person(s) and those who do this breaks the sixth commandment. People who shed innocent blood fall into this category and this includes those who carry out or are involved with abortions. A person may not have actually murdered someone, but Jesus declared that whoever becomes angry with someone without a cause is a murderer in God’s eyes, as well as those who felt hatred for others. People, who take pleasure in bloodshed, whether it’s in video games, movies, fights, or whatever else glorifies the shedding of innocent blood, fall into this category. The Bible warns people that murderers are worthy of death and will have their part in the lake of fire. (Ps. 5:6; 11-5; Matt. 5:21 – 22; Rom. 1:29, 32; 1 John 3:15)

2. And in the New Testament in Proverbs and in Verse 6: 18, it tells people “A heart that devises evil imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief.”

God’s word is tells people in this verse that He despises wickedness and people who do evil; and also people who are perverse of heart are abominable in His sight. A human heart that springs forth all types of evil and unrighteousness can be a deceitful wicked person. These are people who actively pursue wicked impulses of their heart to fabricate evil schemes, plans, and ideas. Their mind is set and plans for evil. (Prov. 5:5; 6:18; 15:9, 25; Jer. 17:9; Mark 7:20 – 23)

God hates evil and those who delight in it and pursue it. He commands people to hate and abhor evil; and the fear of God leads sinners to hate evil and to turn away from it. Those who actively follow and love after evil demonstrate how wicked, perverse they can be. People, who delight in committing sin, ungodliness, and malice, whether in thought, word, or deed, fall into his category. (Ps. 5:5; 97:10; Hos. 9:15; Rom. 12:9; Prov. 8:13)

3. And in the New Testament in Proverbs and in Verse 6: 19, it tells people “A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.”

God hates deceit and liars; this deals with those people who deliberately alter the truth with an emphasis on hurting the reputation or person of an individual, or distorting the truth of God. This is in violation of the ninth commandment. It is an abomination that involves perjury… lying under oath, in a court of law, and to pervert justice. People who lies, slanders, gossips, or swears falsely and it will hurt another party also falls into this category. Ps 5:6; Prov. 12:22, Deut. 17:6; 19:15)

God hates people that are contentious and who delight in stirring up discord and trouble among others. They’re people that are perverse, insolent, and arrogant and quick- tempered, being scoffers and fools who slander and quarrel, loving to instigate, cause problems, divisions, and to keep a fight among a crowd. They love to stir up people’s emotions and passions, one against another, taking pleasure in the strife they cause. They love to persuade people to their side hoping to gain advantage over those who they hate; even if the people are the closest of friends. These types of people destroy family, friends, companions and people gathered in unison for friendship. The Bible distinctly tells people that those who engage in spreading strife are worthy of death, and that those who do participate in these abominable behaviors will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Prov. 3:10; 15:18; 16:28; 17:19; 18:6; 20:3; 22:10)
People if there are these type wicked ways in your life, you have a chance to rid yourself of them, and to humble yourself and to seek Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, repent and ask for forgiveness of your sins and let God hear that you believe in Him and His word and you will be saved.

Those who repent and forsake their sins turn their life over to God and believe in His word and in Him, He will remove all your sins as far as the east is from the west.
