"Slumdog Millionaire" added another precious cap to its feathers – The Oscars. The movie was nominated in 10 different categories and won 8 Oscars, including Best Motion Picture.
The 81st Annual Academy Awards’ ceremony took place in Los Angeles.
Besides Best Motion Picture, the movie won the awards for the following categories:
Best Music (Score) — AR Rahman
Best Music (Song) — AR Rahman
Best Director — Danny Boyle
Best Film Editing — Chris Dickens
Best Sound Mixing — Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke and Resul Pookutty
Best Cinematography — Anthony Dod Mantle and
Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay) — Simon Beaufoy
All in all, it was a very good result for Danny Boyle’s "Slumdog Millionaire" which is an adaptation of a novel called "Q & A" by an Indian author.
