Jammu, May 07 (Scoop News) – Devasthan Prabandak Committee, Thesil Bijbehara (DPCTB) which is the Managing body of Pracheen cave of Lord Shiva at Thajiwara (Bijbehara) today condemns the repeated attempts of known smugglers and Chars (Black Gold) cultivators of Duptyar village to grab the temple land in connivance with the local revenue officials.
In a statement Prabandak Committee alleged that these anti-social elements are trying to grab about twenty (20) kanals of land belonging to the shrine complex on the top of Thajiwara Karewa (Plateau) near Bijbehara town in Anantnag district.
Statement said that the said land of the shrine has all along remained safe for centuries together. By utilizing money power these smugglers are bent upon snatching this land and hurting the sentiments of the devotees.
According to statement that on 5th May in of so called “Nishandehi” the local revenue officials have earmarked major portion of the land of shrine complex for encroachments by the smugglers of Dupatyar village.
Prabandak Committee in a statement said that the action of the revenue officials is highly reprehensible .
They urged Chief Minister and Revenue Minister to intervene in this matter and restrain the local revenue officials and smugglers from committing fraud in the name of so called ‘Nishandehi’.
