The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Company Limited (SNGPL) earned profit of Rs.1.013 billion during first quarter of the current financial year. According to first quarter report of the company, it earned Rs.777 million in the corresponding period last year. The un-audited accounts of the company show that cost of gas sold remained at Rs.26.05 billion as compared to the corresponding period last year which was Rs.23.14 billion.

During the 1st quarter of the current fiscal year, 78 kilometers of transmission and 51 kilometers of distribution lines were commissioned.

Gas facility was extended to Bannu and various localities in Sargodha, Gujrat, Kasur, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur districts.
According to the report, the high pressure pipeline projects of over 300 kilometers in larger diameters are in progress under Project-IX and its advance action plan will enhance the system capacity to cater the rapidly growing demand of natural gas.
