Nazim demanded for opening of Utility Store at UC Kosht.
CHITRAL: Ameer Khan Jalali Nazim Union Council Kosht has demanded from the President of Pakistan to vow his promise regarding opening of Utility Store at each Union council of Chitral. He said that the President had already announced during his official visit of Chitral for opening of Utility stores but still he not vowed his promise. He said that UC Kosht is the most spread and vast area while the land is also slope and people of the area are compelled to travel to far flung areas for purchasing essential goods. He said that food card system has been introduced in Islamabad and other big cities but the people of Chitral are still deprived from those facilities. While the dwellers of the area badly affected by backbone breaking dearness as well inhabitants of the area suffering from non availability of edible commodities.
He demanded for opening of 2 Utility stores at Kosht UC before April 1st otherwise he warned of taking stern action by the people of the area for their genuine rights.
Meanwhile token hunger strike by trained but jobless primary school teachers entered in 10th day but no action was taken so far on their demand. Talking a member of hunger strike camp disclosed that female jobless qualified PST will also be set in hunger strike if our genuine demand was not fulfilled. They demanded from the high ups of education department for recruitment of PST on session wise basis so as to adjust senior people and to save them from over aging.
Snow leopard spotted in villages
CHITRAL: The elusive snow leopard surviving as protected rare specie in the wild life sanctuaries of Chitral has been spotted in the villages adjacent to the Chitral Gol national wildlife park. Due to severe cold many species of wildlife, otherwise restricted to the high elevations have been spotted descending into the town this winter. However at a time when winter is receding the decent of the snow leopard into the lower lying habitat is a unique feature. Zahir Khan, a resident of Mustajapandeh, a village in Chitral town area, while talking to this scribe said he spotted the leopard with large shining eyes and a long tail, sitting on the roof of cattle shed at night but the leopard could not inflict attrition on the cattle as it could not enter the closed shed. The animal fled away in the wee hours of the morning he said.
