Soccer fans urged to drink whisky to ward off swine flu

In Russia, soccer fans who are planning a trip to Wales for next month’s world cup qualifier have been told to drink whisky as a way to shield themselves away from the feared H1N1 pandemic.
Alexander Shprygin, the head of the country’s supporter association (VOB) was quoted saying, "We urge our fans to drink a lot of Welsh whisky as a form of disinfection,"

Shprygin also added that whisky cures all symptoms of the disease. Amidst the travel advisory issued by Russia’s Health Ministry warning Russians against going to Britain because of the spread of the H1N1 virus, a great number of people are still expected to fly from Russia to Wales for the September 9 qualifier.
