Sochi Cultural Olympiad in 2014

According to informational site www.sochi.biz (http://www.sochi.biz/news/?o=_136126, text is in Russian) clipping service of the Bid Committee “Sochi-2014” announced a program of Cultural Olympiad that will take place in Sochi if this city becames the Host City for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
This cultural program will create specific athmosphere in waiting the Games and will include Olimpyc values into a culture and educational system of Russia.
Every year preceding the Games will be devoted to one of branches of Russian culture.
In 2010 it will be cinematograph. Presentations, seminars, classes and young talents’ contests will take place in Sochi every month.
Russian theatre will be in the centre of the program in 2011. Famous troupes will act in new Ice Palace in the Olympic Park and in the Winter theatre.
2012 will be the year of music. International festivals will take place in Sochi.
At last in 2013 best Russian museums will show their exhibitions in Sochi.
Meanwhile it should not be long before a decision of the International Olympic Committee about the Host City for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
IOC2014 Evaluation Commission Report asserts that Sochi Olympic concept is “very good”. This fact made Russian Bid Committee happy. But concepts of others candidates are “excellent” and there is nothing for the Russia to be happy about.
In September 2006 Sochi Bid Committee has started construction of Olympic Center in Imeretinskaya valley in Adler (Sochi). Main Olympic venues are planned to be in the Center. It will be the first object in Federal Target Program for the development of Sochi. This program aims at turning Sochi into a modern all-the-year-round world-level health-resort.
Russian officials promised that winter-sport objects will be built regardless of the IOC decision. Pompous opening of construction took place eight months ago but today no one can see any activity in Imeretinskaya valley.
