Social Welfare reports 30,000 Drop-outs Every year

Nearly 30,000 students are dropped out of the Social Welfare Hostels according to the report from the survey conducted by the Social Welfare Department of Andhra Pradesh.

Care Takers otherwise called to be as Wardens in local languare are just for the name sake and they are assaulting the children in the hostels with slaps and words.

On an average 8,00,000 students are there in the 4,600 Social welfare hostels for the SC, ST, BC castes in the state reportedly.

Out of these nearly 30000 students are ran away to their homes or somewhere else as they not able to bare the assaults from the Care takers.

The committee surveyed the Northern Districts of the State like Srikakulam, Vizayanagaram,  Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and Krishna Districts.

According to them 17,900 students are there in 193 hostels at the starting of the Academic. But at the end of the Academic there are 1575 drop outs reported.

The drop outs are a results of Oral assaults, slapping the children, not feeding the children with proper food, not taken care while they are suffering from diseases etc.
