Lalon shah was a Baul faqir(ascetic,mendicant) who lived to the age of 116. he died near kushtia town on the 17th of october1890. he toavelled a lot,and composed hundreds og songs,Rabindranath tagore a wakened interest in his compositions and in Baul melodies by publishing some Baullyrics and by using Baul tunes wich he loved very much.thebangladesh national anthem was written by Tagore and given byhiman adapted Baul tune.
