sorry state of media

it is indeed a tragedy. Most newspapers in our region(India, south, Bangalore) carryt he same reprints from major American newspapers like New York Times, or Washington Post. I get to see more than one newspaper .it is not uncommon to find the same piece reproduced in two or three newspapers, sometimes on the same day.To the best of my knowledge, we do have some good columnists here. The injustice could be gauged from the fact that bar some national level  jtournalists, others, like me,can’t write for more than one paper. and if we do , we will be blacklisted. The internal arrangement is their prerogative. But as a reader I am entitled to receive at least different viewpoints and not the same one repeated ad nauseum. With due respect to the first lady tobe, the concession to femininity is reported  widely. Our tastes are slightly different and where mothers  and mother like figures are concerned we would rather see them as pillars of society than pillars of femininity alone.Contract obligations perhaps compel them to use it, they are welcome but reader taste too must be taken into account. And then the 24by7 news channels. They revel in showing the same visuals for hours on end.The media pund its claim that some channels are highly nnovative. My feeling is that they do not consider market realities. If A does it, B follows suit andC is not behind. Then of course the ads which are segmented and appeal to a minority of viewers , if they do view it.The explanation is proffered that one could use the remote control to skip it.why onlyt he ads, even the other programmes too deserve skipping. But what are channels for ?there is less of info and evenl essof ntertainment. Will it change at all?
