South Sudanese Singer “Maya” set Tour to India

South Sudanese popular singer Maya Nemaya, 23 has taken a refresh Tour to India.

Did Maya think of going overseas, when he started his music down in 2010? Maya got himself on the move on 2nd Feb, when he left Juba International Airport.

Maya left Juba last week for three weeks long visit to India. “I will see possibility to establish cooperation between South Sudan artist and India artists” Maya said as he was taking off at the Airport.

He said that his trip to India is the foremost travel in his musical travels. Maya has featured in Nairobi and Kampala and now crossed ocean to India.

Although India was not a target for many South Sudanese, Maya said he is seeing to do collaboration songs with India Star singers.

“I am seeing to great fun base in Asia” Maya said. Maya’s trip came two weeks after ceasefire deal reached in Addis Ababa.

Maya said he was in South Sudan at the time of the crisis. “I saw the dark moments in Juba” Maya asserted.

Maya in collaboration with Queen Zee release a peace song “we are tired of war” along his South Sudanese professional colleagues.

Maya, Queen Zee and W.J jumped to the studio two days after the eruption of the conflict in Juba to pass massage of peace and hope in Juba on 18th Dec, 2013.

The track is rocking across the country and featured international radios including BBC. Maya has showed a role singers can play in sanitizing South Sudanese at a time that everybody yearns for peace.

Maya early was pushing back to the roots in the constitution process to sensitize South Sudanese in the constitution making process.

The young star has not only sung for pleasure, but has taken upon him to embrace good governance, transparency, accountability in south Sudan.

Maya also work as Director at Maya Cultural Organization, a organization that target to figure out cultural norms that influence or resist corruption in south Sudan.

Maya is now reflecting South Sudanese cultures in Asia and beyond as is featuring on several media outlets and social media.
