Malawi Minister Patricia Kaliati Monday rushed at Media Institute for Southern Africa(MISA) for not doing anything for the state broadcasting station which had been denied funding by parliament.
"I was just seeing you. You kept quiet when funding was denied by Parliament to Malawi Broadcasting Corporation yet when you hear we have cautioned a journalist you all rush to the international press," she lamented.
She said she was expecting the Southern Africa body to lobby Parliament for the funding.
Kaliati said what the media body has done has tainted its image.
However, defending the body Martins Namingha said his organisation tried all it could for the funding to be given but to no avail.
He said meetings were organised but parliamentarians had already made a decision to deny it the funding.
Ther government side , which has few Members of Parliament, has been denied funding several times by the opposition.
Recently Parliament refused to fund the state broadcaster ,Malawi Broadcasting Corporation for bias against the government.
