Kashmir & Jammu / Delhi : Forget infighting in state unit of Congress now only performance is the main objective to be taken in consideration for portfolio holders in the organizational Congress. As per the reports after sacking of Pawan Kumar Bansal and Aswani Kumar a difference of opinion between Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi has been brewing, though party high commands are repeatedly rubbishing such reports, even spokespersons of Congress are engaged in reiterating that there is no weight in such statements.

According to well informed sources in AICC, it is being believed that those close to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are to be natural unlikes for Sonia Gandhi as has already happened in the case of two union ministers, who were believed to be on the behest of Manmohan Singh. They said that due to mandate 2014, Sonia would prefer to take organizational decisions independently.
Keeping in view the prevailing situation as well as the yard stick to decide the fate of several party leaders, it seems that Saif-U-Din Soz would unlikely continue as chief of party unit in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said. They added that as for as performance in widening and strengthening party base in state by Soz is concerned is about decimal and every party leader, even, a district president or secretary rushing Delhi to highlight his demand is not in the interest of Soz.
If insiders in AICC are to be believed then Soz was also reappointed for second term on the recommendations of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, which under prevailing circumstances cannot be termed as a good sign for the incumbent. The sentiment of regionalism brewing among the party leaders would also compel Soz to announce retirement voluntarily, as one of the senior leaders from Jammu said, on the conditions of anonymity, that it is compulsion with leaders and ministers of Jammu to follow dictum of Kashmiri leadership despite getting large number of seats for the last sixty year.
Meanwhile, understanding between some top brass leaders stationed in Delhi, having close association with Congress high command is mulling to adjust some local blue eyed, to which a post of working president (WP) Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee is being carved.
