Spears to be allowed access to children soon

Britney Spears will soon be allowed to visit her children after lawyers for the troubled singer thrashed out an agreement with her ex-husband’s legal team, it was reported on Saturday.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, attorney for Spears ex-husband Kevin Federline, told People magazine that the star would be granted access to baby boys Jayden James, 1 and Sean Preston, 2, very soon.

We’re pleased that … the process of reinstating the children’s mother as a participant in their lives can commence, said Kaplan, who did not disclose details of the agreement.

Spears, 26, has not seen her children since January 3, when she was taken from her Beverly Hills home by paramedics after a stand-off that began when she refused to hand the boys to Federline’s bodyguard.

Spears was held in a psychiatric ward following the episode, and was back in hospital one month later after renewed fears for her mental health. Spears career has appeared to be locked in a downward spiral ever since her split from Federline in 2006. Last year she was repeatedly photographed out partying while wearing no underwear, bizarrely shaved her head at a public salon, and attacked a paparazzi’s car with an umbrella before finally entering rehab.

Spears shot to superstardom in late 1998 with her smash-hit debut album Baby One More Time, which she followed with another chart-topping success the following year, Oops! … I Did It Again.
