"Speech is Silver, but Silence is Gold !"

We have heard that "Speech is silver, but Silence is Gold !" How far it is true ?.We hear speech, but what about silence?But it is there like Air .It is present.It is formless.It is all-pervading.Can we feel the presence of silence ?Certainly.Silence is like zero, both valuable and at the same time valueless.When silence stands nearby the speech, the speech gets enhanced its value and we can also feel the presence of silence as zero enhances the value of 1.When more zeroes are added on the right side of 1, its value gets enahanced as many number of zeroes we add.Similarly,the complete silence or the magnitude of silence enhances the value of speech.When silence cannot stand itself how can we call it gold.The following examples will prove it.As a teacher speakes on, the whole class listens it attentively with rapt attention.This silence is more valuable than the teacher’s speech.That silence is gold.On the eve of election, a leader speakes in his constituency to woo the  voters and requests them to poll their votes in his favour.The silence of the people when they observe the speech of the candidate or the political leader is gold, because it leads them to hear and decide to whom they should vote.When a father advices his erring son to mend his ways and the son listens to him silently.That silence is gold.When a husband goes on speaking and advicing his wife about her actions, conduct etc and the wife hears it patiently without uttering a single word in reply.That silence is gold.The above mentioned silences actually enable the hearers to listen what is actually spoken and act accordingly.Therefore, the silence has more power and more impact than the speech evokes in the mind of the listener.Again without the presence of a silent hearer or listener, the speech whatever might be the quality of its content has no value.Therefore, it is the silence that actually enhances and supplements the value of speech.We can also say that without silence, the value of speech is zero.Therefore, speech is silver and the silence is gold.
