13 September 2008, Man United had accounted an away lost against the Anfield side. Man United took an early lead as Carlos Tevez put in a goal. However, it was short-lived as Wes Brown put in a bizarre own goal which put Liverpool back into the game immediately as the game went on to level playing field.
It was a dead lock situation and only until Liverpool super substitute, Ryan Babbel put the the winning goal at the back of the Manchester United’s net. Result 2-1 in favour of Liverpool.
This win had put Liverpool tentatively at the top of the English Premier League table.
