Sri Lankan Health Ministry To Launch Mental Health Programme For IDP’S

 Ministry Of Health in Colombo decided to launch a Special Programme to Uplift the Mental Health of the Indisplaced Persons(IDP’S) who are returning from the LTTE held area."These IDP’S are witnessing the killing of their loved ones while trying to escape from rebels and they are  in some kind of Traumatic Situation" the Deputy Director General Of Health Services(Medical Services 2) Dr.Wimal Jayantha said.

"Therefore we planned to launch a Special Programme for these IDP’S to improve their Mental Status"Dr.Jayantha Stressed.Under this Programme Psycheatrists as well as the Medical Officers who are qualified on Psychology will send to the IDP Camps in the North to Conduct Special Programmes for them he added.
