Sri Lankan Main Opposition MP’S Urged Their Leader To Step Down

The MP’S of the Main Opposition United National Party (UNP)of Sri Lanka today held an urgant meeting at the Parliment Committe Room and urged their long standing leader Ranil Wickramasinha to step down from his party leader post.This meeting was held during today’s  Parlimentary Sessions and most of the MP’S belongs to the UNP avoid of attending the sessions for two hours due to this meeting.

UNP MP’S are in the view that Mr.Wickramasinha is not able to guide UNP to victory in the recently concluded Provincial Council Elections and even in the Major Elections held recently.In the recent past too He was in underpreasure due to the  the Rebel MP’S in the party who are continuousley urging him to step down from the leedership and introduced Reforms to the Party.

Meanwhile during this Opposition Meeting a Government Minister told the Parliment that Some MP’S of the UNP are planning to Assault  the UNP Leader this morning which was denied by the Opposition. UNP sources said the meeting was held peacefully.
