Sri Lankan Navy Arrested The Vessel ‘Captian Ali’ After Illegally Entered In To The Lankan Waters

Sri Lankan Navy arrested the controversial British vessel "Captain Ali," which carrying food and medicine to the IDP’S in the north and its crew this evening after the vessel entered in to the Sri Lankan waters without permission.This vessel is named "Mercy Mission To Vanni" and the Navy captured it when it crossing through the western waters in Sri Lanka to the north.

The vessel said to be carrying 884 metric tonnes of essential food and medicine to the 330,000 IDP’S in the north began its journey from Ipswich Port in U.K on 20th of April and through Suez Canel crossed the Red Sea two weeks ago. It is equipped with Modern satellites and said to be filling daily  video blogs, photo essays, personal reflections and twice daily reports on their mission to Sri Lanka, a group who chartered the vessel said in a Statement.

Former member of the Sri Lankan Monitoring Mission Kristjan Guomundssonis along with doctors and humanitarian workers are on board the vessel.

After announcing the mission of the above vessel, the  Sri Lankan Navy warned that their naval crafts will attack the vessel if it entered in to the Sri Lankan waters Illegally.
