St Louis Missouri. When it rains it pours on the St Louis Rams football team. St Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher announced on Wednesday defensive end Chris Long will miss at least six weeks of playing time with the football team due to an ankle injury he suffered on Sunday in the Rams loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Long, 29, made his National Football League debut with the St Louis Rams in 2008. Long was the first pick of the St Louis Rams out of the University of Virginia. Long is one of the most valuable players on the Rams football team.
The silver lining in the dark cloud is that the injury to Long will not sideline him for the entire 2014 regular football season. The Rams (0-1) next opponent in their 16 game schedule will be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1). The football game will be played on Sunday September 14, 2014 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida.
The Rams starting quarterback Shaun Hill, 34, who has an injury to his quadriceps area is being listed as day to day. The sports media experts are saying that the Rams will have one of the worst seasons in the history of their franchise with Long’s ankle injury.
Due to the injury to Long, whoever will replace Long as the Rams defensive end will have a chance to get some playing time. The Rams players will have to unite as a team and ignore their critics who are predicting this season is already over starting next Sunday in Tampa.
