St Louis Rams quarterback Shaun Hill has a strain on his thigh

St Louis Missouri. St Louis Rams quarterback Shaun Hill, 34, who became the starting quarterback of the team when Sam Bradford, 26, torn his ACL during the preseason was hoping to be able to play the entire 2014 football season.

Hill suffered a strain to his thigh during the Rams first regular season game versus the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday during the first half of the Vikings 34-6 win at the Edward Jones Dome in St Louis.

Rams third year head coach Jeff Fisher, 56, decided to keep Hill off the football field in the second half of the game since Hill had his injury to his thigh. Rookie Austin Davis, 25, made his debut in the National Football League on Sunday versus the Minnesota Vikings.

Fisher said Hill will have his injured thigh examined by a doctor on Monday. Fisher is hoping that Hill will not miss a lot of playing time during the 2014 regular football season due to his thigh injury.

If Hill is unable to play quarterback for the Rams for an extended period of time due to his injury, the Rams will have to go with Davis and third year quarterback Case Keenum who was released by the Houston Texans recently when Ryan Mallett joined the Texans in a trade with the New England Patriots.

I look at it this way. Keenum or Davis will have their chance to step up as the Rams quarterback this football season if Hill is sidelined for a long period of time.

It could a long season for the St Louis Rams in 2014 if the quarterbacks on their current roster do not step up and give their team a chance to win football games by performing like elite quarterbacks in the National Football League.
