Standard Life has announced 195 job losses, blaming changes in the way financial products are sold.
The Edinburgh-based insurer said 34 sales jobs would go in the Scottish capital and 13 more in Glasgow.
The biggest cuts will be in Bristol where 69 will go. There will also be fewer jobs in Leeds and Watford.
The company said changes in the market for financial advisors were behind the decision, but service levels would not be affected.
Twenty two posts will be lost in Watford, 18 in Leeds, 14 in Cambridge, 10 in London and 8 in Manchester, the company said.
A total of 13 Edinburgh posts will transfer to Bristol.
