State Of The Art Sewage Treatment Plant Inaugurated In President’s Estate

The President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the first ever Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the President’s Estate, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi on June 08, 2015. The Lt. Governor of Delhi, Mr. Najeeb Jung, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and other dignitaries are also seen.

Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan

New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): The President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated on June 8, a state of the art Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in President’s Estate. Mr. Najeeb Jung, Lt. Governor of NCT Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of NCT Delhi and Mrs. Omita Paul, Secretary to the President joined the President on the occasion.

This Sewage Treatment Plant, whose foundation stone was laid by the President on February 17, 2014, has been built in a record time of approximately one year and three months. The STP is in fulfillment of the recommendations of the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan prepared by INTACH.

IIT Delhi was the technical consultant for the Plant. Construction, operations and maintenance has been by M/s L&T.
