This was stated in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Minister of state for Forests and Environment, Shabir Ahmad Khan convened to review the functioning of wild life and forest department.
The meeting discussed threadbare with regard to stopping the man-animal conflict occurred in twin districts.
The meeting decided that rescue teams would be sent alongwith cages in different areas of districts especially Hayat Pora (Manjakote) and Sora Bahrot (Thanamandi) to give immediate relief to the people’s residing near forest areas.
The meeting was informed that 31 man-animal conflict cases were disposed off last year by providing compensation to the victims. The meeting was further informed that the wild life areas in the state is spread over 16000 square kms which is at 2nd number after
The Tata Kutti wild life sanctuary have been notified which has spread over large areas.
Chief Wild Life Warden, A. K. Singh, Regional Director Wild Life, Pachnanda, Conservator of Forests West Circle Jammu other officers attended the meeting.
